Really drives it home, when a device that can't help you when standing still, is still tuned to be an energy hog while standing still. Sitting still with everything but the sonar off, still drains faster than the reactor can keep up. Though even the sonar is still ludicrously drainy. But at least, that's still better than previous "Can literally build a new cyclops in the safe shallows, then drive it to the alien containment facility and back before it recharges" state. Hard to gauge how fast it works with vents in normal biomes outside of "Much longer" due to the nature of periodic erruptions. When parked with the engines off in lava land (and no larva on you). It takes roughly 7 minutes to recharge empty regulars, and roughly 33ish minuts to refill empty ions. Now (in experimental, unsure if it's fixed in live). Previously it was 50 minutes to refill empty ions in peak recharge conditions, bugs from experimental ported to live 300 mnutes. Some good news is that in experimental, they are FINALLY making the thermal reactor not bad/bugged. That said, everything the Cyclops has but the engines is absurdly drainy. Though otherwise, like David said some devices do not turn off by themselves. Were you in the lava biomes? Those have lava larva who's whole purpose in life is to latch on and drain the battery of your cyclops.
